As of October 5, 2015 it is possible to download previously available scans for free.
On the first page of an entry in Archieven.nl you can see if scans have been added to an item if the text ‘xx digitalized’ or in Dutch ‘xx gedigitaliseerd’ is included.
After opening the entry, a grey plus sign or grey bullet indicates if scans are already available.
When you open the scan in the viewer, at the bottom of the page you’ll see this text: ‘download deze scan als jpg’. Click on this text to start the download.
When a scan of an image is available online, most of the time you can download the scan for free. When you open the scan in the viewer, at the bottom of the page you’ll see this text: ‘download deze scan als jpg’. Click on this text to start the download.
When the image is part of the following collections, you will not be able to download a scan: Flipse-Roelse, GCZ Album Meulenberg, GCZ Collectie In 't Anker, GCZ Collectie Luteijn, GCZ Fotocollectie. Please contact the owners for more information regarding obtaining a scan. The owner of the Flipse-Roelse collection is Polderhuis Westkapelle. The owner of the four GCZ collections is het Genealogisch Centrum Zeeland.
In case there is no image with the mention or when you open the viewer you do not see this text: ‘download deze scan als jpg’, please send an email to email@example.com for more information on how to proceed.
Register and login
When you register yourself at Archieven.nl and login when using the site, the scans you’ll download will be visible in ‘mijn studiezaal’ for future reference.
If you have previously registered for a purchase from the Zeeuws Archief or another participating archival service within the website Archieven.nl, you can use those account details.
You can login via the ‘Login’ button, which can be found on the ‘Search’ page, in the upper right corner of the window, below the ‘Response’ button on the page.
